EUBCE 2025

We’re excited to share that Stavroula will be attending the European Biomass Conference & Exhibition (EUBCE) 2025, one of the leading events in the field of biomass and bioenergy.

A key highlight from our network comes from TU WIEN, which has submitted an abstract titled:

“Assessment of Wheat and Rye Straw Availability in the EU-27 for Sustainable Aviation Fuel Production through Solar Pyrolysis”

This collaborative research, conducted with Aalto University, explores the potential of agricultural residues—specifically wheat and rye straw—for producing sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using innovative solar pyrolysis technology. By harnessing agricultural by-products, the study aims to contribute to a greener, more circular approach to energy and aviation fuel production in the EU.

The notification of acceptance is currently pending, and we’re hopeful to see this important work featured at EUBCE. This aligns with broader efforts to advance sustainable energy solutions and reduce the environmental impact of the aviation industry.

Stay tuned for more updates from EUBCE 2025 as we continue to spotlight pioneering research and collaborations driving sustainable change!
